What is a B Corp?
March is B Corp Month, but what is a B Corp and why should businesses be interested?
Huge global brands and very small SME’s alike are becoming B Corps. Companies like Ben & Jerry’s, Jamie Oliver, Danone, Guardian Media Group, The Body Shop, Tea Pigs, Abel & Cole, Innocent drinks and so many more recognise their companies exist to have a positive impact on society, communities and the environment as well as making a profit.
Grant Hayward, Co-Chair of the Oxfordshire+ B Local, one of the first to be established in the UK, will be asking Kate Sandle, Director of Programmes and Engagement at B Corp UK, to explain more about B Corps, why businesses should consider becoming certified and what we can expect during B Corp Month. They will be joined by Helen Denny, Global Head of Customer Experience at The Myers Briggs Company, based here in Oxfordshire. The Myers Briggs Company became a B Corp in 2018 and Helen will share insights about why the business did this and the difference it has made.

Why joining a community of business leaders can enhance your reputation and credibility
I read a LinkedIn post recently that reassured business owners that if they’d managed to keep their businesses going during recession, Brexit, COVID and the cost-of-living crisis that they deserved a huge pat on the back and shouldn’t ‘beat themselves up’. Easier said than done when costs are rising and doing business seems to get harder rather than easier, but the sentiment was well-placed.
