Bespoke cookery classes to support independent living
We have started up 2 Wantage cooking groups this month.
- We will continue a series of cookery classes using food bank ingredients to support those with families struggling financially.
- Bespoke cookery classes for adults with additional needs living independently.
We have set up a bespoke cookery group supporting some young adults in Wantage with additional needs to cook healthy meals for themselves while living independently. Healthy curries, pasta dishes, stewed autumn fruit are on the menu. We are providing pictorial recipes and nylon knives.
Nicky above is full of beans and character and loves to learn to cook. She is reducing her sugar intake by a half this month and very proud of her attempt to halt or even reduce her type 2 diabetes.
Thank you to Wantage Town Council for funding group 4 of Wantage mums. A picture of two of the mums in the group is above.
