NEXUS Webinar Series with Mark Beard, Richard Venables, Jayne Woodley and Grant Hayward
Join us for the first in a series of NEXUS webinars where we will hear from Mark Beard, Patron of NEXUS and High Sheriff in Nomination for shrieval year commencing April 2022, former High Sheriff, Richard Venables, Jayne Woodley of OCF and Grant Hayward, who is well known to businesses across both organisations and will remain proactively involved in the future development of NEXUS.
This introductory webinar will set the scene for future webinars where we will hear from NEXUS partners as to how they are making the most of their partnerships, with advice as to how you can connect with a business, charity, social enterprise or start-up to help you thrive.
About NEXUS
NEXUS was launched in October last year and is a programme designed by B4 (Oxfordshire’s leading business networking organisation) to provide opportunities for businesses to build meaningful connections with either a charity, social enterprise or start-up business, creating mutual benefits and enabling both to build their profile within the B4 network.
The NEXUS programme has over 50 partnerships and is looking to grow this at what is a critical time for charities, social enterprises and start-up businesses. The NEXUS programme was seen by Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) as a great programme to support alongside Reciprocate, the responsible business group hosted by OCF. Reciprocate member companies have always believed that, by working together, sharing ideas and collaborating on projects, they could increase their support for the local community and improve the lives of people in Oxfordshire.
OCF have always believed that collaboration will take all of us further than competition every time and wherever possible we should all seek out opportunities to pool our resources, for our common good, rather than duplicate our efforts, as OCF’s CEO, Jayne Woodley, explains:
“We also know we will only ever achieve more if we focus and prioritise those efforts. Not least because the challenges we face in addressing deep-seated social problems are more often a lack of co-ordination between all our various efforts as organisations and individuals rather than being solely about insufficient funding or beyond the capacity of any one organisation. That’s more relevant now than ever and is why together with the support of our members we believe NEXUS offers such a welcome and timely opportunity to blend the best ideas, experiences and people from Reciprocate with the signposting, events and masterclass, and now B4 LIVE Webinar series, muscle of B4.
“Therefore, over the past few months and since the launch of NEXUS in October 2019, we have been planning the evolution of Reciprocate by working together with NEXUS to:
Shine a light on all the great stuff that is already happening
Make it easy for others to take action in a more joined up and coordinated way
“Whilst it is often difficult to leave our egos and organisations at the door, by optimising the three resources we all have at our disposal:
our TIME
our INFLUENCE
our CURRENCY
“We believe this will bring incremental benefit to both Reciprocate and NEXUS.
