Teams at the Raise’25 Golf Cup at Frilford will be competing for The Colin Rosser Memorial Cup
The Raise’25 Golf Cup will take place on Frilford Heath’s Red Course on Monday 15th September with up to £10,000 being raised for the ten Raise’25 charities. The inaugural event will also see teams compete for the Colin Rosser Memorial Cup.
Oxfordshire’s leading golf club, Frilford Heath, has ‘donated’ their Championship Red Course to raise funds for the ten beneficiary charities of Raise’25 (Raise’24 raised £36,100). The winning team will be presented with the inaugural Colin Rosser Memorial Cup in what will be a fitting tribute to a great man who loved his golf, particularly at Frilford Heath where he was a member.
Frilford’s Managing Director, Russell Stebbings, commented. “We are really looking forward to hosting Members of the B4 and wider Oxfordshire business communities to what will be a fantastic day of golf and fundraising for some superb charities. Raise’24 really captured the imagination of the business community and when we first heard about Raise, we knew we wanted to be involved, but started thinking outside of the box as to how we could raise funds. We thought we could fully open one of our Championship golf courses for the 10 charities for a unique Golf Day, so that’s what we’re going to do on 15th September and everyone is welcome. I was personally very sad to hear, as were many, that we had lost Colin last April so it’s the perfect opportunity to remember his life and award the winning team with a trophy in his name.”
It’s such a generous offer to have access to the Red Course at Frilford for the day, but that’s what the team at Frilford are doing. Each of the beneficiary charities will be able to ‘sell’ two teams at £700+VAT with £500 per team going into the Raise’25 fund*, so that’s a whopping £10,000 target for the day.
Catherine Whitmarsh of one of the beneficiary charities, Connection Support, commented. “Wow! What an incredible gesture, thank you so much for supporting the Raise’25 charities in this way. We absolutely loved the fundraising event in December, and this has just added a whole new element to look forward to!”
Gemma Sills of Plunkett UK added. “This is incredibly kind, thank you ever so much Russell and Daniel – what a wonderfully thoughtful community gesture.”
Ann Avarne of DEBRA UK commented. “On behalf of DEBRA UK, thank you so much for your generous offer of support. We’re thrilled to hear of Frilford Heath Golf Club donating a whole golf day to Raise’25 on what promises to be an exciting day!”
B4’s CEO, Richard Rosser, added. “This incredibly generous offer really took me by surprise, but Raise has already seen such a huge amount of goodwill and this is yet another incredible example. Acts of generosity such as this will only help us to grow Raise’s profile in the business community. For Russell and the team to volunteer the Red Course for a day is wonderful, and I am sure we’ll hit our target of 20 teams – it will be a great one to shout about on the day! Thank you also to the team at Frilford for agreeing to present the Colin Rosser Memorial Cup to the winning team. Dad loved his golf and was a regular visitor to Frilford as a Member and I am sure he will be looking down with interest to see who takes his trophy home.”
Ben Procter, Managing Director of Oxford Property Consulting, who has entered the first team into the competition, commented. “We are so pleased to be the first team to have entered the Raise’25 Golf Cup and supporting so many charities who all do incredible things in the local community. The Red Course at Frilford is very challenging but we’re really looking forward to it and it’s an extra special trophy to be challenging for.”
*Funds raised will be held by Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF), CIO no 1151621, in a dedicated B4 Raise Fund, which will allow Gift Aid to be added where relevant. OCF will then distribute funds to the beneficiary charities as grants in 2026.
