Nicholsons make first donation to Raise’24 Fund
We are delighted to announce that Liz Nicholson and her wonderful colleagues at Nicholsons have made the first donation to the Raise’24 fund.
Raise’24 is a brand new annual event, inspiring Oxfordshire businesses to take bolder action to help build a fairer, safer and happier Oxfordshire for all. On 13th December 2024, 300 people from the local business community will join each other at Keble College for a fun-packed festive fundraising extravaganza, competing to raise the most donations on the day for Raise’24. They will hit the phones, social media and emails to bring in at least £500 per person, or a massive total of £150k!
Liz was moved by Sobell House’s Nikki Gracey who spoke during the B4 Platinum Dinner at The Yurt (at Nicholsons) in June and has now become our very first Raise’24 donor.
Kate Parrinder, Head of Development at Oxfordshire Community Foundation, one of the eleven beneficiary charities, commented. “We are absolutely thrilled to have received our very first donation to the B4 Raise Fund from Nicholsons Nurseries! They have planted the first seed in what we hope will be a beautiful garden of gifts from across the business community in Oxfordshire. These gifts will nurture the work of eleven different impactful charities across the county, which are helping people in our local communities to flourish.”
Liz Nicholson added. “When I first heard about Raise’24 I really was taken by what an amazing initiative it was. For Nicholsons to support was never a doubt and we know our contribution will make a difference. I urge other Oxfordshire business leaders to either enter a team, sponsor or make a donation. We really hope that this is the first of many years of this wonderful fundraiser and we can’t wait to hear more about it in December.”
B4’s CEO, Richard Rosser commented. “It doesn’t surprise me that Liz and her colleagues at Nicholsons are our first donors. They are such genuine people who already do so much to support charities in Oxfordshire. It’s a privilege to have them as our ‘first’. Thank you Liz, Niel, Merlin and everyone else at Nicholsons.”
If you would like to join Liz by either donating, sponsoring or entering a team, please find out more raise4charity.co.uk/support.
