New OxLEP mentoring platform launch webinar – 27th October, 12:00-12:45

OxLEP Skills is delighted to launch a virtual mentoring scheme for Oxfordshire on National Mentoring Day (27th October 2022).

The mentoring platform will allow jobseekers and career seekers (mentees) in Oxfordshire to receive support from business volunteer (mentors) on how to be successful when applying for new roles through CV writing, interview techniques and preparing for interviews.

If you have experience and advice which you would like to share by becoming a mentor, then we would be delighted to invite you to a webinar on 27th October from 12:00-12:45 to find out more. You will see how the platform works and find out how you or your employees, colleagues and network could help make a difference to people’s lives. Please see https://mentoringlaunchwebinar.eventbrite.co.uk for details and to book. Please share this link with anyone you think may be interested.

The mentoring scheme is part of the Social Contract Programme, a £1.7m programme of activity that aims to remove barriers to employment for individualswho are nearly ready to move back into employment and those over the age of 50 in Oxfordshire who may be affected by labour market challenges. A core ambition of the programme is also to improve social mobility for minority ethnic communities in Oxfordshire.

Mentoring will take place via OxLEP’s new OxGrow online mentoring platform, developed and hosted by Connectr, which also gives mentees access to learning and development activities to compliment the support given by mentors.
