Blake Morgan Lawyer Saddles up to Help Tackle Homelessness in Oxfordshire
Blake Morgan partner, William Downing, is joining a 180-mile cycle ride from Trafalgar Square to the Eiffel Tower to help combat homelessness in Oxfordshire.
The London to Paris bike ride will raise much needed funds for new accommodation and support projects for local charity Homeless Oxfordshire. In addition to specialist support services to help people back on their feet, the charity provides accommodation for over 200 people a night and services up over 75,000 meals every single year.
William, who is Chair of Trustees for the charity, will be joining a team of fundraisers who will embark on a three-day challenge on the 19th of September. All funds raised will support accommodation services and projects to help homeless people with training, education and activities to help them live a more fulfilling future.
Commenting on his fundraising efforts, William said: “Homelessness in Oxfordshire is a real issue. The number of rough sleepers in Oxford has increased by 400% since 2012 and so support services like those provided by Homeless Oxfordshire are vital in tackling this issue. Every person we meet through the charity has a unique story and we provide individual solutions to help meet their needs and turn their situation around. I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far – every penny counts.”
