Topic: Exploring Management & Employer Buyouts
About the discussion
Exploring MBO’s and Employee Ownership/Buyouts: Management buyouts are a common route for SME’s and increasingly Employee Ownership, particularly in people based businesses, are popular. Simon will take us through the themes, talk about the roles of management and founders/owners and describe how an MBO or Employee Ownership can be a “safe” way of exiting, under the radar of the wider world, compared to a sale process with third parties. Simon will touch on valuation, funding, tax, timing and commercial matters.
About the presenter
Simon Blake is a member of the Strategic Corporate Finance department within Price Bailey. He has extensive knowledge and experience with owner managed businesses and has done a great deal of work on management buyouts and employee ownership trusts. Simon also led the recent purchase of our Oxford office.
