Henley Festival to welcome ‘Magic Radio’ to the beautiful banks of the Thames for this year’s unmissable black-tie revelry
Henley Festival presented by Westcoast has announced that Magic Radio will be joining this year’s glittering extravaganza of music, arts, comedy & fireworks on the Henley-on-Thames riverside – including a Saturday night takeover of the Festival Club, ‘Pure Heaven’ with DJ sets from Magic Radio presenters Harriet Scott and Mel Giedroyc.
Over five magical summer nights from 9-13 July, Henley Festival will deliver a stunning programme of world-class talent with headliners on its unique Floating Stage including Diana Ross, McFly, Rick Astley, Matteo Bocelli, Jamie Cullum and Haçienda Classical.
Adding to the unmissable celebrations, Magic Radio will be bringing its trademark upbeat-optimism combined with the very best music to the Festival Club ‘Pure Heaven’. From 10:30pm on Saturday night Magic Radio presenter Mel Giedroyc will be bringing her unique humour and dance moves to her first ever live DJ set. Actress, comedian and former Great British Bake Off presenter hosts the Magic Radio Request Show every Sunday from 10am but will be kicking off the party at Henley with her own choice of music with an exclusive set festival goers won’t want to miss.
“I am so excited to be hosting my first ever DJ gig, that’s right Henley Festival you will see my debut as a DJ, and it is going to be a night to remember. I can’t wait to welcome all the Magic Radio listeners and maybe we will take a request or two!” said Mel.
Bringing the vibes and no doubt spinning some Madonna after Mel will be Magic Radio Breakfast presenter Harriet Scott who commented “what a fantastic line-up Henley Festival has this year, and I am thrilled to be part of the Saturday night where I will be DJing in the Pure Heaven tent, staying up just a little bit later than usual! So, grab your best outfit and get ready to dance the night away with me (and Madonna) at this truly unique event.”
Having warmed up crowds for the legendary Nile Roger’s and joined fellow breakfast co-host Gok Wan on stage, Harriet knows how to keep the Henley audience on their feet into the early hours.
It’s Glowtime on Magic Radio. Playing the best music variety from the 80s to now it is the home of Gok Wan and Harriet at Breakfast and Gaby Roslin, Mel Giedroyc, Nicki Chapman, Sonali Shah, Lemar, Nicole Appleton as well as Harry Judd – who will be coming to Henley Festival on Thursday night when McFly take to the iconic Floating Stage for their headline set. Ahead of the festival Magic Radio will also be offering listeners the chance to win their way into the event with exclusive ticket giveaways as well as bringing them all the latest news from the festival.
“Henley Festival 2025 is lining up to be a totally unforgettable year, and to have Magic Radio come down to host, bring the vibes and play the best variety from the 80’s to now in our Festival Club is a total joy. Pure Heaven will be packed to the rafters with Magic Radio Presenters Mel and Harriet in charge of the music – what a way to spend a Saturday night!” Jo Bausor, CEO of Henley Festival
The UK’s only black-tie music and arts festival, Henley Festival is truly an experience like no other: a world-class music programme of pop, world, classical, folk and jazz set alongside stellar comedy and cabaret, stunning art galleries and sculpture installations, roving performers, as well as dining, drinks, dancing and simply jaw-dropping fireworks. But, Henley Festival is more than an unmissable event: it is a charity with a mission to support the next generation of talent through its RISE programme.
