The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2021
Save the date! Can you help us make this year’s Big Give our best yet?
Save the date! We’re really excited to be participating in the Big Give Christmas Challenge again this year from midday Tuesday 30 November to Tuesday 7 December. Can you help us make this year’s Big Give our best yet?
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest match-funding campaign, where for one week only, all donations are doubled, meaning that every penny you give is worth twice as much!
In 2020, our very generous supporters helped us to raise £9,620 to go towards our rough sleeper outreach. This year, we’re aiming to raise £18,400 to buy a new van for our social enterprise.
At Emmaus Oxford, we help our companions overcome any barriers they face when moving into paid employment such as patchy or non-existent employment history or mental health problems. We do this by offering them meaningful work in our social enterprise – our Barns Road store.
Our vans play a vital role in our social enterprise, allowing companions to collect and deliver pre-loved items, which raises the funds needed for us to provide a home, work, training, and support for our companions. Most importantly, however, our vans and store provide companions with opportunities to contribute and learn whilst gaining skills and qualifications along the way ready to move into paid employment. The purchase of a new van for our social enterprise will help us to provide even more opportunities for our companions.
Any donation during the Big Give week will make double the difference to our companions and we’ll have more updates on our website and social media nearer the time.
