Share your views on the e-scooters trial

Survey is open from 16 November to 15 December 2021.

People are being invited to share their views on the experimental e-scooter trial in Oxford city centre.

Members of the public are now invited to take part in a perception survey to share their thoughts on the trial, and any changes they would like to see.

Councillor Tim Bearder, Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways Management, said: “Now these e-scooters are available across the city they are a genuinely useful tool for making journeys wherever you want to go. This is a perfect point to take the temperature and gauge public perception of their usefulness. We know that we need to tackle congestion and provide more positive alternatives to cars, and we want to know people’s thoughts on how e-scooters might or might not fit the bill.”

The trial started in February 2021 and has been running for nine months. It is part of a UK Government initiative to provide direct and greener transport options around non-pedestrianised areas in busy towns and cities.

People can have their say by visiting https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/e-scooter-trial-your-views-2021 and filling in the survey, which runs until midnight on 15 December.

You can also submit your feedback to E-scooters, FREEPOST OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (no further address needed).

This survey is in addition to the live Experimental Traffic Regulation Order consultation for the e-scooters trial.

In Oxford, the e-scooter trial is operated by Voi. E-scooters are available for hire by anyone over 18 with a driving licence. The scooters can be hired , by registered drivers, for short trips around the city of Oxford. GPS tracking, zoning restrictions and limited speed are all built in to help ensure the e-scooters meet the vehicle restrictions of each area they operate in.
