Whitley Stimpson’s golf day raises cash for cancer charity
A golfing day organised by the Bicester office of Whitley Stimpson raised £1,000 for a charity that helps people suffering from and recovering from cancer.
The Bicester office of the company, which also has offices in Banbury, High Wycombe and Witney, making it one of the largest independent accountancy and business advisers in the area, raised the money for the Hummingbird Centre at their annual golf day at Frilford Heath Golf Club.
Stephen Payne, director at the Bicester Whitley Stimpson office, said: “Our golfing friends went out of their way to make this event a success.
“The Hummingbird Centre is the only one of its kind in the Bicester area and does a wonderful job in helping and supporting people suffering from cancer or who have finished their treatment and need further support.”
The centre has been named as a finalist in the Bicester Business Awards for the last two years. It is staffed mainly by volunteers, all of whom are trained and professional and whose lives have been touched by cancer.
