Golfers raise cash for Dogs for Good
Whitley Stimpson drove the fairways to raise £1,000 for a Banbury based charity that provides specialist trained dogs to support people with disabilities.
The company, which has offices in Banbury, Bicester, High Wycombe and Witney raised the money for Dogs for Good at its annual golf day held on 5th October at Frilford Heath Golf Club.
Ian Parker, Director at Whitley Stimpson explains: “Our golfing friends went out of their way to make this event a great success and we were thrilled to raise over £1,000 on the day to help support and develop Dogs for Good’s fantastic work in the future.
“Dogs for Good is an amazing local charity providing invaluable support to many people bringing them independence and companionship. These dogs support physically disabled children and adults, as well as families with a child with autism.”
Since 1988, Dogs for Good has been making life-changing differences for people with disabilities. The charity support people with a range of needs including physical disabilities, autism, dementia and learning disabilities enabling them to lead more independent lives through the help of trained dogs.
The charity believe dogs are good for us and through a deeper understanding about them we can improve and enhance the lives of both dog and owner. Dogs for Good has also started to train activity and therapy dogs to work with specialist handlers in communities and schools, something they feel can have a very positive benefit.
In accepting the donation to its funds, Dogs for Good Tina Williams, a Regional Fundraiser told the golfers about its work and said: “Every day, we see the life-changing differences our wonderful dogs make to the lives of people we work with. Quite simply, generous donations like this mean that we’re able to continue our vital work and we’re so grateful to you all for helping us achieve that.”
