Freeths’ continues to expand leading UK private wealth offering with latest appointment
National law firm Freeths has strengthened its private wealth offering in the South East with the appointment of Mark Baker.
Mark joins the firm as an Associate from Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP where he spent almost ten years in the private client team.
He specialises in guiding personal representatives through the estate administration process and is experienced in a broad range of estate matters. Mark advises on the preparation and submission of inheritance tax accounts, probate applications, and the estate administration process.
Recent work highlights include advising the executor of a high value estate with assets in multiple jurisdictions and assisting the independent administrator of an estate with complex cross border conflict issues. He also has extensive experience of probate applications for clinical negligence claimants.
At Freeths, Mark will support the national private client offering whilst also advising trustees on trust administration matters and is an affiliated member of STEP.
Commenting on the appointment, Managing Partner of Freeths in Oxford, Sarah Foster, said: “Mark’s experience and reputation will be invaluable in helping to strengthen our UK top ranked trusts, estates and tax team’s offering to clients. Mark is a highly regarded lawyer in his field and I know he will be a valuable asset to the team as we continue to grow our client base and provide a service to our clients that is second to none.”
