Leading law firm Freeths is continuing its support for the Women of the Year (WOTY) Awards 2026, as the search begins for women making a meaningful impact across business and society.
Now in its 44th year, Women of the Year remains one of the UK’s longest‑standing platforms for celebrating female achievement. Freeths is once again a key sponsor of the awards and will be sponsoring the Freeths Woman with Edge category, which recognises women who show courage, originality and determination in challenging the status quo.
Other featured categories include the Businesswoman of the Year and the prestigious Emmeline Pankhurst Award for Woman of Achievement, which honours exceptional contribution and leadership.
Shortlisted finalists will be selected by a panel of Women of the Year ambassadors, with interviews taking place in September ahead of the awards ceremony on Friday, 9 October 2026 at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester. In the lead‑up to the ceremony, WOTY will also host a series of networking events across the UK, designed to bring women together to share experience, build connections and support one another.
Freeths’ continued involvement reflects its long‑term commitment to gender equity, inclusive leadership and celebrating successes that are too often overlooked.
Commenting on the firm’s involvement, Lisa Gilligan, Managing Partner of Freeths Leicester, said: “Freeths’ partnership with Women of the Year continues to resonate strongly with us. Time and again, these awards highlight remarkable leadership and women who are pushing boundaries and creating positive change. Being involved in the judging process is so insightful and a reminder of the difference female leaders can make. We would encourage organisations and individuals to put forward the women who are driving change. Their achievements and their stories deserve to be recognised and celebrated.”
