Family Law specialists Boardman Hawkins & Osborne LLP celebrate their first trainee solicitor qualifying as a solicitor
Family Law specialists Boardman Hawkins & Osborne LLP are delighted that their first trainee solicitor, Beth Hancock qualifies as a solicitor on Wednesday 6th March.
We couldn’t be happier that Beth, who joined us in April 2021 as a paralegal, and started her training contract with the firm in September 2022, is the firm’s first ‘homegrown’ solicitor! We are also very pleased that Beth qualifies, during the week when we celebrate International Women’s Day, which we think is very apt.
Beth’s training was supported in part by our friends Crosslands, a specialist employment firm at Milton Park, and demonstrates the beauty of collaborative work. We were able to reciprocate by swapping Beth for 6 months, with their trainee solicitor Jade.
Beth is looking forward to specialising in family law, and will focus her work as a newly qualified on children matters, but also in domestic abuse alongside some matrimonial law. Beth says “I am very grateful to the firm for the support and guidance that I have been given throughout my training. I couldn’t be happier to have started my career with BH&O who have not only a reputation for excellent legal practice but also a passion for access to justice and helping the local community.”
BH&O Partner Ruth Hawkins says “We are so pleased that we have supported the next generation of lawyers, and confident that Beth will be a credit to both the firm, her clients, and the local legal scene. Beth staying on with the firm also strengthens our team further.”

What a show! This is an unmissable show for this Festive...
This year’s Oxford New Theatre Christmas season show is Miss Saigon, from the team behind Les Miserables. Michael Harrison in association with Cameron Mackintosh, is touring a fresh production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schoenberg’s Miss Saigon. Review by Ruth Hawkins for B4.
It’s all so very Greek! Mamma Mia hits Oxford’s New Theatre.
My first experience of Mamma Mia was watching the first film on a ferry back from France. I remember being enthralled by the energy of the film and the music. It’s a skill to create something which is universally enjoyable and, dare I say it, but the stage show does this in buckets. It is even better than the film! Review by Imogen Skipper.
