Staff at Abingdon & Witney College are celebrating national recognition following the publication of the latest National Achievement Rate Tables (NARTS), which confirm the College as one of the leading apprenticeship providers in England.
The newly released figures for the 2024/25 academic year show that the College ranks 5th nationally among General Further Education colleges for overall apprenticeship achievement. With an impressive overall success rate of 77.4%, the College significantly outperforms the national average of 65.4%, underlining the quality of its training and the strength of its partnerships with employers.
A standout feature of the College’s performance is its success in Level 3 apprenticeships (equivalent to A Levels), where it has been ranked 1st in the country. Adult learners aged 24 and over achieved an exceptional 91.4% success rate, while younger apprentices also excelled – placing 2nd nationally for Level 3 provision and 7th nationally at Level 2 for those aged 16 – 18.
Across all age groups and qualification levels, the majority of apprenticeship outcomes are placed within the top 25% nationally, demonstrating consistency and excellence across the College’s provision.
Strong performance in key curriculum areas has also contributed to these results. Construction and Business apprenticeships, which account for around two-thirds of the College’s provision, delivered particularly impressive outcomes. Construction apprenticeships ranked 2nd nationally, while Business apprenticeships placed the College within the top 10% of General FE colleges.
Edward Collett, Commercial Director at Abingdon & Witney College, said: “These results reflect the dedication of our apprentices, the expertise of our staff and the ongoing commitment of our employer partners. Being recognised among the top apprenticeship providers nationally demonstrates the real impact apprenticeships have on careers, businesses and communities across Oxfordshire.”
Building on this success, the College continues to expand its apprenticeship offer, working closely with employers to meet regional skills needs and provide high-quality pathways for learners of all ages.
