When the pandemic hit in March 2020, Red Kite Leasing saw their business impacted very severely.
Owner Ben Fleetwood decided to use the opportunity to look to the future and re-launch his business as an electric vehicle leasing company, ‘Your E-Car’.
Having originally started his business to fulfil the need for a car lease company that offered a tailored consultation service, the shift being made towards electric vehicles and in particular, the move by Oxford City Council to become the first city to adopt a zero-emission zone in 2021, motivated Ben to move into the electric car market.
Ben says ‘There are many pre assumptions made about electric vehicles such as, they are expensive, they don’t have a very long range and that there are not enough charging points. However, the government aim to move to electric cars has meant the technology and infrastructure has developed at pace, resulting in a significant decline in costs to the consumer in both leasing and maintenance, fuel and upkeep.’
