Grant Thornton appoints new Director of Transfer Pricing
Grant Thornton has announced the appointment of Imran Khan as Director of Transfer Pricing across the Thames Valley and Southampton region.
This new hire reflects Grant Thornton’s move towards strengthening the Thames Valley and Southampton team within its core markets and is a significant investment in widening its global footprint.
Before joining Grant Thornton, Imran’s most recent role was as Director of Transfer Pricing at Deloitte. He brings with him a huge wealth of experience across many types of business from foreign inbounds and UK listed, to private and expanding businesses, and larger owner-managed and PE backed businesses. Imran has worked across a wide range of industries developing a comprehensive knowledge base and delivering on complex transfer pricing and international tax projects. One area of significant experience is the pricing of intangibles and other components of complex global supply chains.
Imran prides himself on truly understanding the clients’ business and then using his specialist knowledge to implement tailored pricing solutions. Cost versus benefit pressures can differ greatly between smaller and larger companies; Imran has considerable experience in tailoring solutions to meet client needs, providing practical and pragmatic advice. Imran will work alongside many of Grant Thornton’s other in-house specialists including those in Employer Solutions, VAT and the wider advisory team, and is already leading international projects with multiple specialisms coming together.
Imran commented, “The complexity of business today and the significant scrutiny from tax authorities in relation to transfer pricing means that it is increasingly a topic on the boardroom agenda. Where experienced international tax specialists can partner with businesses, understanding them and their plans, we can create significant value by helping them to navigate an increasingly complex global tax environment. I am thrilled to be joining Grant Thornton, being a part of shaping a vibrant economy, and supporting the rapid growth we are seeing in transfer pricing.”
Jim Rogers, Practice Lead for Thames Valley and Southampton, Grant Thornton UK LLP said, “We are incredibly pleased to have Imran on board with us and we are confident that he will be a huge asset to the business. This new role will significantly build our capabilities across our core markets and consolidates our international offering across our teams. The Tax practice has been growing rapidly and we are confident that with Imran’s guidance we will see Transfer Pricing boosted even further as he joins us with a huge wealth of industry knowledge and international experience. We anticipate an even brighter future ahead for this team and look forward to seeing its growth.”
