Really Connect with B4 at The Story Museum
Telling your business story is a powerful tool for building trust because it humanises your brand, creating a deeper connection with your audience. We regularly see businesses ‘storytelling’ on social media to great effect and it’s something we want to help our Members do on a more regular basis.
At one of last year’s Business Development ecosystems, B4 Members agreed that although they made good connections at B4 events, were they really getting to know Members and spending enough time with them to find out more about them and their businesses? Over time, yes, but we came up with he idea to fast-track that knowledge gathering and trust building at a series of events entitled ‘Really Connect’ where Members are invited to spend ten minutes with different Members in a different venue every month.
The appropriate launch venue for Really Connect was the wonderful Story Museum in the heart of Oxford. The Story Museum highlights the human need for stories and celebrates the many ways that people can benefit from them. It’s not only a brilliant organisation but it’s a fantastic location offering businesses a wide range of interesting spaces for events.
At Really Connect, we heard from Head of Development, Niamh Walshe who welcomed B4 Members to the Museum before handing over to B4’s Events Manager, Tina Rosser, who had worked out how the connecting was going to take place. We then made our way to The Woodshed where Caroline Jones, CEO of The Story Museum, told us more about the importance of storytelling and supporting children most of all in helping them to appreciate and engage.
Caroline said. “Through our stimulating exhibitions and exciting programme of performances, events, workshops, clubs and skills-building courses, we engage people of all ages in great stories. Our activities are interactive, multi-sensory and designed to encourage parents, carers and children to spend time together enjoying stories in many different ways. We also work with businesses to explore the art of storytelling and welcome you to use our spaces and benefit from our expertise in this area.”
Thanks to all of the Members for supporting this first Really Connect and future dates will be announced soon.
Thank you to Niamh and Caroline for hosting and to Tina for organising.
