Life on the Estate

Highlighting some of our Apprentices in National Apprenticeship Week.

Ellie

Ellie began her Stockperson level two apprenticeship in September, and hopes to become a Shepherdess in the future.

Ellie is currently preparing for her first lambing season working alongside our farm manager Charles and full-time shepherd Tom. Our Estate is home to a 1,000-strong flock of Scotch Mule sheep, which are reared entirely on grass within the Estate’s walls, keeping them as naturally healthy as possible.

Jack & Charlie

Jack is training to be a bricklayer and Charlie is training to be a plumber.

Our property apprentices have the chance to gain valuable experience on-site that could never be paralleled in a classroom. Working with high-quality materials and tools, these apprenticeships provide an opportunity to master their trade and to be a part of meaningful, community-building projects.
