Gold sustainability accreditation for Oxford Brookes Venues
In recognition of its exceptional sustainability standards, Oxford Brookes Venues has been awarded a gold accreditation by the industry’s ECOsmart scheme. The ECOsmart scheme, run by Greengage Solutions, recognises eco-friendly hotels and conference venues that meet certified high standards of environmental sustainability.
The gold accreditation acknowledges that extensive measures have been put in place to fully embrace environmentally friendly events. Areas such as energy and water conservation, waste management and recycling, catering and corporate and social responsibility were assessed as part of the process.
Becky Rossiter, Commercial Operations Manager at Oxford Brookes Venues, said: “It is fantastic to be awarded the gold accreditation for how we operate at Oxford Brookes Venues. The events industry can cause considerable waste and impact on the environment so it’s vital that we acknowledge and address our responsibilities. Event organisers and attendees are making more conscious decisions to minimise their environmental impact. We want to encourage sustainable events by providing environmentally friendly venues and supporting organisers with green event practices.”
