Westgate Oxford has announced the appointment of Clare Martin as its new Centre Director.
Clare brings a wealth of experience in the retail, food and beverage, and leisure sectors to the role, and has been an integral part of the Westgate Oxford team since joining in 2018 during the first year of its redevelopment and relaunch.
Prior to her new appointment, Clare has held roles in the centres Marketing and Retail teams before being appointed Deputy Centre Director three years ago. During her tenure as Deputy Centre Director, she was instrumental in bringing highly sought after brands to the city, including Sephora, The Beefy Boys and Flight Club.
In her new role, Clare will be focused on ensuring Westgate Oxford remains a vibrant, community-focused destination. Her vision goes beyond traditional retail, to emphasising the importance of dining, leisure and creating an inviting all day destination where guests will want to visit, time and again.
She is passionate about making Westgate Oxford relevant to all and utilising open spaces like Leiden Square to host community celebrations such as the recent Oxford Folk Festival.
Clare is dedicated to fostering strong local partnerships and has a proud history of championing collaborations with local schools, groups and charities, including Made in Oxford, Dancin’ Oxford, Oxford PRIDE and Sobell House Hospice.
Clare Martin, Centre Director at Westgate Oxford, commented: “I am delighted to be stepping into the role of Centre Director at a destination I care so deeply about.
“Oxfordshire has been my home for nearly thirty years, so I know firsthand what makes this community so special. My focus is to build on the centre’s success ensuring it continues to be a vibrant, welcoming space that brings new brands and experiences to our city.
“By blending brilliant retail with fantastic dining, leisure, and community events, we want to create unforgettable experiences that make Westgate Oxford the go to choice for a great day out, while also encouraging our guests to explore everything the wider city of Oxford has to offer.”
