Freeths advises Maven Capital Partners UK LLP on £3 million investment in Bud Systems Limited
National law firm Freeths has advised Maven Capital Partners UK LLP, a leading UK-based private equity and investment firm with over £650 million of funds under management, on its £3 million investment in Bud Systems Limited.
Bristol-based Bud provides specialist software as a service to apprenticeship and other training organisations to enable the delivery of high-quality, compliant training whilst improving the visibility of progress and performance.
The funding from Maven will be used by Bud to invest further in its core technology platform, while expanding its sales and marketing resources to support growth.
The Freeths legal team was led by Corporate Director Lottie Hugo and Corporate Partner Claus Anderson, assisted by Senior Associates Charlotte Hartwright and Fatima Hammad, Associate Arti Vadher and Trainee Solicitor Paul Wiggins. The corporate team was also supported by Commercial Partner Zoë Robertson, Data Protection Partner Luke Dixon, Intellectual Property and Media Partner Iona Silverman, Pensions Partner Kim Jones, Real Estate Partner Michael Bray and Employment Partner Laura Tracey alongside Managing associates Jessica Matthews and Daniel McNally, Senior Associate Charles Smith and Associates Olivia Hill and Sarah Brogues.

This acquisition follows the Freeths team being Highly Commended in the Corporate Law Firm of the Year category at this year’s Insider South West Dealmakers Awards.
