Be Free Young Carers joins B4 Platinum and confirms £1,000 Big Give Pledge from Raise’24
We are pleased to announce that Be Free Young Carers, who joined B4 in 2023, have now joined B4 Platinum.
Be Free Young Carers is the only charity in Oxfordshire dedicated solely to improving the lives of young carers aged 8–17, providing emotional support, social activities, and guidance, helping these young people balance their caring responsibilities with their education and personal development. Every day, they see how a small intervention can make a big difference. Be Free Young Carers are one of a handful of charities in Oxfordshire that are solely independent which means they are free to advocate, and self-govern without the controls of a larger organisation or statutory services.
Sabiene North is the CEO of Be Free Young Carers and commented. “Alongside leading this incredible charity, I’m passionate about championing the needs of young carers across Oxfordshire. I am also trustee at the national charity, Supershoes and local young peoples charity Didcot Train.
“We understand businesses having the majority of our staff come from a corporate background. Our business relationships are built on mutual benefit. We’re always looking to connect with businesses that want to make a tangible impact in their local community, whether through sponsorships, corporate volunteering, or strategic partnerships, there are so many ways we can work together to support young carers.
“Businesses today are increasingly recognising the importance of employee wellbeing, but have you considered the impact of caregiving on your staff or their families? Many employees juggle work alongside supporting young carers at home. By partnering with Be Free Young Carers, you can help create a supportive workplace culture while contributing to a cause that touches many lives. Let’s have a conversation about how you can get involved and make a lasting difference.”
Be Free Young Carers were one of eleven charities to benefit from B4’s Raise’24 fundraising event which culminated in a brilliant event at Keble College in December.
Hannah Waugh, Fundraising Coordinator for Be Free Young Carers, recently confirmed that they had received £1,000 from Raise’24 as part of their Big Give Pledge. “We are extremely grateful for the support of the fund; it makes a huge difference in the support we can offer and the lives of Oxfordshire’s young carers.”
B4’s CEO, Richard Rosser added. “It’s brilliant to have Be Free young Carers as part of B4 Platinum and underlines the value that Sabiene sees in being part of this growing group of diverse organisations. We heard about the amazing work that Sabiene and her colleagues do at Be Free Young Carers during Raise’24 and it was so rewarding to receive Hannah’s confirmation that Raise’24 had been supportive of their Big Give Pledge.”
On upgrading to Platinum, Sabiene added. “Renewing with B4 was an easy decision. B4 has provided us with invaluable connections, opportunities to raise awareness, and a platform to share our mission with Oxfordshire’s business community. It’s more than a network; it’s a partnership for positive change.”
