Soup, seas and wise words…
Very simple, Very tasty
Being at home all day with more time on your hands has one advantage: sprucing up your culinary skills. Time to try some more complex recipes and experiment on the family who are literally a captive audience!
However, tasty does not have to be complicated as this stunning recipe from Chef Clive goes to show.
A three-step Cucumber Gazpacho which is so simple to make but SO delicious and perfect for lunch on a spring day. (Prepare and leave to marinate overnight for best results).
Bring the ocean indoors
Just prior to lockdown we were about to launch our fundraising partnership with The Marine Conservation Society (MCS). Sadly our schedule of fundraising activities has been temporarily curtailed but we look forward to resurrecting them as soon as life returns to normal. In the meantime, our friends at the MCS would like to share some online content with you all.
“We recognise the importance of the ocean for many people’s physical and mental well-being, and while many of us can’t get to a beach at the moment we’ve made it our “mission” to bring the beach – and the sea – to you.”
Next week sees the launch of a new Cool Seas Explorers webinar series with the MCS education team sharing insights about all the marvellous UK marine wildlife. You can sign up here.
Places are limited so sign up today – the sessions scheduled so far are:
‘Go Plastic Free’ – 21st April, 11am
‘Aliens of the Deep’ – 28th April, 11am
‘Beside the Sea’ – 5th May, 11am
Finally – if you are a family of wildlife lovers then you can’t go wrong with Lizzie Daly’s Earth Live Youtube sessions which are terrific. Try this one for starters, it’s MCS Ocean Ambassador Tom “the Blowfish” Hird.
NB: The MCS have asked us to remind you not to light lanterns for the NHS tonight – they can cause fires and also harm wildlife – please pass this on to family and friends – thanks for doing your bit!
And now for a little inspiration…
We thought we would leave you with an extract from our ‘induction’ video which is shown to everyone as they start their career with the BB family.
Raymond not only welcomes them with open arms but also shares his own story from that little boy in the French countryside with big dreams to the man who has trained more Michelin starred chefs than any other and is admired the world over for his culinary genius.
A little inspiration for us all…
We would love to still share news and ideas with you all which is why we have created a public Facebook Group called #BBKind; a community corner for all things Brasserie Blanc and our sister pubs, The White Brasserie Company, for an insight into the creation of our new menu and inspiration for all.
