Medical communications agency looking to capitalise on “hotbed of Oxfordshire talent” from Witney Business & Innovation Centre
A medical communications agency based in Cheshire has set up a satellite office at the Witney Business & Innovation Centre (BIC) to tap into a “hotbed of medical writing talent” in the Oxfordshire area.
Business Unit Director, Dr. Elena Mills, who grew up in the Witney area, is heading up the new branch of Helios Medical Communications at the Windrush Park Road Centre. Together with Scientific Services Director, Elizabeth Southey, the pair are looking forward to recruiting new employees and expanding the business.
Since launching in 2015, Helios Medical Communications has recruited medical writers, project managers and support staff to work for their Cheshire team based at Alderley Park near Macclesfield. Their work involves helping global pharmaceutical companies to communicate new clinical trial data about medications and devices to doctors.
Elena said: “We’re delighted to have expanded into the Witney BIC. The staff have been so helpful and it’s very satisfying to know that as we continue to recruit staff in this area the set-up means we have the flexibility and potential to easily move into larger office space.”
“It’s the perfect location for a growing business. We know Oxfordshire is a hotbed of medical writing and project management talent and we are looking forward to working with and recruiting the “best of the best” in this area.”
“Being able to come to the Witney BIC and literally just set up really appealed to us. The management team here really hold your hand through the process.”
Managing Director, Dr. Andrew Minnock who founded the business along with two other Directors leads the Helios team in Cheshire.
He said “We are excited to see how the new Witney office will evolve in the future. We have a great team in place already, and we are looking forward to attracting more high calibre team members.”
”We want to grow the business sustainably. We have immediate vacancies for experienced project leaders, medical writers, scientific directors, scientific project coordinators and medical editors. We’re an independent company with big ambitions and we’re really excited about what the next few years holds for the Helios office in Witney and the company as a whole – the sky’s the limit.”
Witney BIC, which is owned by Blenheim Palace, boasts office space for one to 30 people.
Alli Anderson, Centre Manager, said: “This is an exciting time for Helios Medical Communications and we are delighted they have chosen the Witney BIC as the base for their expansion plans.
“All of us at the centre are dedicated to supporting the growth plans of all our customers and are on hand to answer questions and help steer the way, if required.”
