GDPR one year on – Gardner Leader announces free seminar for local Maidenhead businesses
A free Breakfast seminar on GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for local Maidenhead businesses is to be held in June by award-winning law firm, Gardner Leader, to provide the latest guidance on the regulation 12 months since its enforcement.
Designed to help local SMEs navigate this key issue, Gardner Leader’s legal team will highlight the legal myths around the regulation since its inception, answer questions such as ‘does GDPR mean businesses always need consent for marketing?’ and advise on the importance of different types of customer profiling in GDPR assessments.
Says Diane Yarrow, Partner in the Gardner Leader commercial team who will be speaking at the event: “We decided to run our GDPR – 12 months seminar as we’ve discovered when talking to many local organisations that there’s still a lot of misunderstanding on the issue, or that it’s something that only big businesses need to worry about.
“But unfortunately, even if you’re a small business or charity holding a simple catalogue of business cards or an excel sheet with names and addresses, GDPR will still apply. The good news is that by understanding the key rules compliance can be simplified. We’ll be sharing all the key points with attendees along with the latest advice on the regulation and the likely next steps in its enforcement by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).”
The free breakfast seminar will run from 8:00-10:00am on 11 June at Gardner Leader’s Maidenhead office on 7 Frascati Way in partnership with marketing gurus MAXX. To register visit www.gardner-leader.co.uk/GLatHome or call Tel: 01628 671636.
