Blenheim Estate Begins Work on New Community Development
Blenheim Estate, with its partner Pye Homes, has begun work on the new housing development east of Woodstock.
Park View is the first development done by Blenheim Estate incorporating the principle of Landowner Legacy which recognises local landowners have a social, economic and more responsibility to deliver developments that its local community can be proud of.
The initial build phase, which lasts until 2021, will consist of one and two bedroom apartments as well as two, three, four and five-bedroom homes for sale and to let.
Later phases will feature affordable homes for rent and shared ownership in partnership with West Oxfordshire District Council.
The entire development, which will include a total of 300 new homes alongside plans for small businesses accommodation, is anticipated to take between five and seven years to complete.
“The Blenheim Estate has a deep-rooted relationship with the surrounding towns and villages which dates back more than 300 years,” said Blenheim Estate’s Property Director Roger File.
“As part of the Estate’s legacy, and in order to help deliver the strategic vision for the growth of the local economy, we are committed to the development of sustainable new homes and expanding local communities on our land.
“That means planning and building patiently, carefully preserving the existing visual harmony whilst ensuring developments are future-proofed and bring in new residents who can add to the vibrancy of existing communities.
“We are also committed to being innovative and encouraging new models of ownership and tenancy which provide an inclusive mix of affordable solutions and keep pace with changing local needs,” he added.
Property is an integral part of Blenheim’s 10-year development programme that includes tripling the Estate’s contribution to the local economy and creating a £45m endowment fund to ensure the long term future of the World Heritage Site.
