B4’s 30 Day Exercise Challenge In Support Of Specialeffect
Join B4 in a daily 20-minute HIIT (high intensity interval training) routine – get fit, raise money!
B4 have teamed up with AMR FIT to raise funds for the wonderful Oxfordshire based charity, SpecialEffect, to launch the B4 30 Day Challenge, an exercise programme EVERY DAY throughout September …. and we’d love you to join us. We’re all different when it comes to fitness….some haven’t done any exercise for years and keep putting it off, others do exercise but are easily tempted to have a few days off and lose momentum…. and there are some who live to train. So join B4 and follow us or do any exercise you want to do, whether it’s 10 press ups, 100 hops, 10,000 steps or 20 minutes swimming, every day in September…just as long as it’s an exercise, so 3 pints of beer every day won’t cut the mustard!
Want a daily HIIT? Then follow these 3 simple steps:
STEP ONE AMR FIT will be promoting a set 20 minute HIIT routine every day on Instagram and
Facebook during September with easy to follow video demonstrations. See the
routines daily at the dedicated Facebook group page at:
or @amrfit_ on Instagram.
STEP TWO Post your photos on our Facebook group page (see above)
STEP THREE Promote the Just Giving link (or your own link) to your networks and help support
SpecialEffect – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/b4-sep-fitness-challenge
….if you want to do your own thing, then please still share what you’re doing with us as for STEP TWO above and please do support SpecialEffect.
30 Different Locations and Special Guests
We’re looking for 30 different locations to host the HIIT routine on each day and have already secured some great venues. If you’d like to host Abi and Richard, please contact email@example.com. If you’d like to join them for one of the sessions, please let Richard know and he’ll let you know the locations in advance – just bring a mat and some water, plus the social distancing bits & pieces.
A Great Cause
The real driving force for the challenge is to support SpecialEffect, a phenomenal Oxfordshire based charity. Please do use the Just Giving link to promote your challenge to your friends or, if you can’t take part, please make a donation and help to raise funds for SpecialEffect, B4’s official charity for BIO2020, our three day, one hundred webinar event in June, when over £2,500 was raised through raffle and auction prizes.
SpecialEffect’s Nick Streeter commented, “A wonderful highlight of BIO2020 was the chance to get to know Lucinda Whiteley and the team at Novel Entertainment Ltd. When they found out about young Benjamin (who is part of the SpecialEffect BubbleBusters Project and has a missed a great deal of time from school due to treatment for Leukaemia), arranged for him to star in the Horrid Henry Unlocked podcast! If you have one minute and you’d like a lift, please do click the link below to see Benjamin chatting about his favourite characters and episodes and also his No Isolation AV1 BubbleBusters Robot! (See https://www.specialeffect.org.uk/specialeffect-news/brilliant-benjamin-meets-horrid-henry).
“Regarding the B4 Challenge, it’s great to see Abi and Richard setting the bar for such a great initiative and we’re delighted to be their chosen official charity. The local business community, most notably with the Twin Town Challenge that B4 has kindly supported, has a history of brilliant events to support our work and we look forward to seeing what other ideas the business community comes up with.”
B4’s 30 Day Challenge also coincides with SpecialEffect’s One Special Challenge taking place in September and October where businesses are encouraged to do a virtual challenge of their support as part of the wider One Special Day campaign that happens on October 2nd (see http://onespecialday.org.uk/).
Richard, who’s also adding his own daily extra (alternating every day between a 10k run and a 30k bike ride) added, ”It’s great to have the motivation of raising funds for SpecialEffect. The team work tirelessly to bring a smile to the face of so many people, so this is the least we could do. Secondly, I’ve done enough exercise in my life to qualify for the Olympics but feel I could do more. After three London Marathons, a Paris to Oxford and Edinburgh to Oxford bike ride and countless Blenheim triathlons, I should be in better shape and hopefully September will be the difference…having my daughter calling the shots will be great fun….. I think!
Abi added, “Dad and I have worked out a lot over the years and we both encourage each other, so I’m really looking forward to putting both of us through our paces. Exercise is a part of my life and I want to help anyone who wants to make it a part of their life. Please do get in touch if I can help you with your programme for September. I will also be pushing out some nutritional tips and recipes on my Instagram feed . Good luck with your challenge!”

About SpecialEffect: We put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games. By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, we’re finding a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities. But we’re not just doing it for fun. By levelling the playing field, we’re bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on quality of life.
About B4: We are one of Oxfordshire’s leading B2B networks with over 300 members in our network enjoying a wide range of benefits on line including connections, learning, inspirational speakers and profile. We are a trusted business community which believes in the value of long term relationships and which works with each other to help business and persona development.
About AMR FIT: Fitness and wellbeing has been part of my life since I was 11 years old. I am a personal trainer with qualifications and I like to help others, but I also have 9 years of personal experience. I have been overweight and bullied as a result, but I was able to overcome this. I then took weight loss too far and became considerably underweight. I have seen both sides, but now I get to enjoy seeing the healthy side. This was the inspiration leading to the creation of my company, so I can share my experiences with you. This is my job, but also my hobby and I want to use that to make a difference.
