Moorcrofts help secure letting to NFU Mutual Insurance Society in Marlow
Moorcrofts commercial property team has advised the landlords on a local letting on West Street, Marlow to prestigious new tenants, The NFU Mutual Insurance Society Ltd.
The NFU Mutual Insurance Society Ltd, which offers expert insurance across its 300 UK branches, recently opened the new office following refurbishment works, comprising 2847 sq feet across three floors at 7-9 West Street, Marlow. The building dates back to mid- 16th Century and was the original town bakery. It is Grade 2 listed and is considered to be the oldest building in Marlow by the Marlow Archaeological Society.
Moorcrofts’ commercial property partner, Julia Ferguson has been leading the legal negotiations for the landlord with support from Ian Hylton and Anita Johnson.
Julia, said: “We were very pleased to assist Tim and Alex in their first foray into property letting having previously operated their own retail clothing business – Landmark, from the premises. The letting of the unit to such a high calibre tenant will be good for the high street as a whole.”
Tim Hobden, Landlord of the premises, said: “Moorcrofts were recommended to my wife and I by our property agents Deriaz Campsie and I am delighted that we appointed them to handle the drawing up of the lease between us and our new tenant. As first-time commercial landlords and as the property concerned is our main pension provider the importance of finding the right firm to handle our case cannot be under estimated. From the very first communication with Julia Ferguson I knew that we had chosen wisely and that we were in safe hands. Her legal knowledge and expertise were first rate as was to be expected from a firm as well regarded as Moorcrofts. However, what really made Julia stand out was the excellent level of personal service that she gave us; from the simple things like replying to emails and voice mails promptly (a rarity it seems these days) to her very patient and empathetic way of explaining the more complex issues we were having to grapple with for the first time. We were always made to feel that we were Julia’s only client. The day we signed the lease I told Julia that she was the ‘glue’ that had held the whole deal together. “
