Databasix Director, Kellie Peters, Shares Why You Need to Attend BIO2019

Summer is on the horizon, and with it comes Oxfordshire’s biggest business event bringing together the county’s best and brightest for a full day, thought-provoking event that helps you, as an Oxfordshire based organisation, to “Unlock Your Business Growth”.

For the sixth year in a row, B4 is proud to bring the Business in Oxfordshire (BIO) event to life, now ready to kick off next month, on the 6th June 2019. BIO2019 has locked in more than 70 exhibitors, 60+ poignant talks and over 500 attendees, including business owners, leaders, entrepreneurs and executives. If you’re yet to get your tickets, never fear, there is plenty of space still available to secure your spot last minute.

As a leading market in the UK, Oxfordshire is internationally competitive and a UK leader in Motor Sports, Life Science, Space Technologies and Electronics. BIO2019 recognises the unique dynamic of businesses in Oxfordshire and, with this in mind, pulls together this event to speak directly to the unique challenges and goals that businesses in the region face.

This year, BIO2019 will tackle topics such as how to cultivate the right behaviours and adopt proven best practices to achieve and expand commercial business success, through talks with some of the region’s most prominent figures, including CEO’s, entrepreneurs, innovators, thinkers, artists and more.

One such speaker is none other than Kellie Peters, Director and Data Rockstar at Databasix, who has been so kind as to share her views on why Databasix is attending BIO2019, and why you should, too.

Kellie is the co-founder of Databasix UK, a passionate enthusiast about all things data, and a trusted expert bringing us a curious talk addressing five lessons that we can all learn from the GDPR coming into force. Kellie’s presentation, “A year on from GDPR – Has anything really changed?”, is not to be missed.

What made you decide to exhibit at BIO2019?

The Business in Oxford event (BIO2019) is the biggest local networking event in 2019 and brings with it a range of big business and learning opportunities.

What are three golden nuggets that attendees can expect to take away from your talk “A year on from GDPR – Has anything really changed?”

  • Being accountable can help you build credibility and trust and may help mitigate against potential enforcement action;
  • It’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them;
  • You must inform people within 30 days if you acquire their data indirectly.

Who are the exhibitors at BIO2019 that you’re most excited to visit:

Who are the speakers you’re most looking forward to listening to and connecting with?

  • Lindsay Willott – we are really interested in understanding more about Customer Thermometer;
  • Charmian Love – this talk around “business as a force of good” sounds truly fascinating;
  • Kate Faulkner – we are very curious to hear about how Kate believes we can address the housing issues in the region.

Who do you think should attend BIO2019?

Any decision makers or influencers from professional services organisations, in particular, lawyers, accountants, market researchers, digital marketing and web design agencies.

BIO2019 is for all Oxfordshire businesses that want to get ahead. We aim to promote and deliver an engaging event where the county’s leading business people can discover, learn, celebrate and shape the future of business in Oxfordshire together.

If you’re an Oxfordshire based business, you cannot miss BIO2019, the biggest business-networking and showcase event in the county. Get your tickets here, and we look forward to seeing you on June 6th.
