Blenheim Apprentices Nominated for Award
Two recently graduated apprentices from Blenheim have been nominated for awards.
Shepherd Apprentice Tom Pritchard-Pitts and Marketing Apprentice Niamh O’Sullivan have both been nominated for the ‘Intermediate Apprentice of the Year’ award at the 2019 Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards.
The annual awards recognise the efforts of apprentices, schools, training providers, employers and apprenticeship ambassadors throughout the county.
Blenheim HR Manager Megan Carter said: “The Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards are a fantastic way of highlighting how successful Apprentice programmes can be to local businesses. It’s so important to celebrate the successes of what these Apprentice’s achieve individually as well as raising awareness of how vital it is for local firms and businesses to support apprenticeships across the county”.
“We’re delighted to nominate both Tom and Niamh”
“It’s great recognition of all the hard work, enthusiasm and effort they put into their time with us and we wish them the very best of luck,” she added.
Intermediate Apprentice of the Year is for apprentices living or working in Oxfordshire who have completed a minimum of 12 months of their current Level 2 Apprenticeship, or have completed a full Level 2 Apprenticeship within the 12 month period leading up to and including 1st December 2018.
Blenheim offers up to 10 apprenticeships each year with the goal of having trained in excess of 100 apprentices by 2027. Apprenticeships are available for a variety of roles within the Estate’s businesses including; Marketing, Gardens, Maintenance, Operations, Game and Retail.
Blenheim is one of only a few employers to offer apprentice positions within rural businesses.
The apprenticeships start throughout the year and are open to anyone who is over the age of 16 and have completed secondary education. Each apprentice is assigned their own personal mentor and ‘buddy’ who is available to give support, advice and training.
In addition to on-the-job paid experience, successful candidates can gain additional qualifications as well as get help with CVs, interviews and career choices as part of their training.
The awards are organised by Oxfordshire Apprenticeships who are part of the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership Skills Team. Their aim is to promote apprenticeships and traineeships to young people, parents and employers.
