Kadans expands Oxford footprint with two new acquisitions at...

Kadans has added two further buildings at Abingdon Science Park, Oxfordshire to its Pan-European science park portfolio. The assets, Monarch House and Penlon House were acquired from two separate private clients. The two buildings sit adjacent to Kadans existing ownership of The Science Quadrant. Monarch House and Penlon House total c.50,000 sq ft. As part of the acquisition Kadans will be renovating Monarch House and providing new, high quality laboratory and office accommodation.

Ross Kent is promoted to Partner, and, Dan Humphry, Natasha Eliot, and Oliver Neagle to Associate level. Additionally, Jack Kibblewhite and Edward Walter have joined the firm as graduate surveyors.

In summer 2019, Carter Jonas were instructed by AMC (Agricultural Mortgage Corporation) to visit an organic pig farm and apple pressing facility near Princes Risborough. Having secured planning permission for a new dwelling at the farm, the owners were looking to re-package an existing mortgage and for a new loan facility enabling them to build phase one of their new home.

Carter Jonas Elects New Chairman

14 October 2020 – National property consultancy Carter Jonas LLP has elected James Bainbridge, currently head of the firm’s Planning & Development Division, as Chairman with effect from 1 November. He takes over from Simon Pallett, who has held the position since 2015, and who remains with the business as a Partner working with his rural clients from Winchester. Colin Brown is to succeed Bainbridge as Head of Planning & Development and will take his place on the firm’s Management Board.

Since my email of 17 March 2020, a great deal has developed in the advice from Government as to how the country might best protect itself from the worst effects of Coronavirus, culminating in what amounts to a lockdown, as announced by the Prime Minister in his 20:30 speech on Monday 23 March.

Towards the end of last year we highlighted the mixed nature of Oxfordshire’s housing market; overall annual house price growth contrasted with a decline in transaction volumes. Whilst this trend has continued into the first few months of this year, not helped perhaps by an unseasonably cold March, the onset of spring has already started to provide an added momentum that the region’s market needs.
