Oxford had the chance to showcase the innovative support provided for people experiencing homelessness in the city with a visit from HRH The Earl of Wessex. Partners from Oxfordshire Homeless Movement greeted The Earl and shared how local organisations had adapted their work in response to the pandemic.
A new project being convened by Oxfordshire Homeless Movement (OHM) aims to support people who cannot access any government-funded services due to their country of origin. Combined with existing initiatives happening locally, it could bring us closer to ending rough sleeping in Oxfordshire.
The Lived Experience Advisory Forum is a partnership approach between the Oxfordshire Homeless Movement, Aspire and The Gatehouse that ensures people who have their own experience of being homeless are listened to and can influence the services on offer. A new Coordinator role will take the lead in championing the homeless voice locally.
Thanks to generous donations from the public, trusts and businesses we successfully reached our Christmas match fund target of raising £150,000 to help homeless charities and provide new services for people experiencing homelessness in Oxford.
