Christine Douglas has worked with young people for most of her career. Initially as a geography teacher, then in education senior management, for 12 years as a school inspector, and then as a volunteer with the Nasio Trust as a group leader. She has a wealth of experience and understanding of the challenges facing young people; understanding the ways in which their confidence and skills need to be developed so that they can achieve their full potential. As YoCO Project Director for the charity’s first three years her aim was to create a sustainable, enjoyable and challenging programme and recruit excellent group leaders to prepare the youth groups for their life changing, volunteering trip to Nasio Trust’s project in western Kenya. Christine is now a YoCO trustee, the Lead Safeguarding Officer and takes an active part in funding raising.
