The Future of Work is Here at the Historical Oxford House
Modern flex offices spark creativity in fully restored 1930s Art Deco film building.
A new, flexible office park has opened next to Finsbury Park. Oxford House is an iconic, Art Deco building that has been renovated to contain 15,000 square feet of modern flex offices. Located just minutes from Finsbury Park Station, Oxford House is a creative and high-end space to work, collaborate and host meetings and conferences.
Oxford House was originally built in the 1930s as a factory for light industrial work. The building was repurposed in the late ‘30s as a technical space to assist with producing information films for the war effort. Kay Laboratories Ltd., a motion picture processing and printing company established in 1914, used Oxford House as their technical processing laboratory. Kay Labs was eventually taken over by MGM, becoming Metrocolor and then Technicolor. It eventually closed down in 2010. However, the building’s legacy in cinema remains as many key inventions in colour film were made in the building and were used internationally on the big screen.
After the film business shut down, the building was used by several small companies before gradually falling into a state of disrepair. In 2019, a full restoration of the building began. Today, the building retains the historical charm of the old film age while offering a creative space to elevate business flexibility with affordable workspaces.
Oxford House was developed in response to the 15-Minute City market trend. The 15-Minute City is urban planning with the idea that all basic human desires and needs should be met within walking distance of 15 minutes or less, containing all of the amenities people need to live happier, healthier, more fulfilling lives. By reducing the importance of cities and taking advantage of remote work opportunities, companies can drastically improve company culture, and employees can enjoy the benefits of working closer to home.
Oxford House offers flexible serviced offices with a professional, high-quality environment allowing for expanded productivity and creativity in a vibrant business community. With spaces for teams of up to 30 people, Oxford House has a space to suit any business’s needs. Oxford House also has meeting rooms available for presentations, conferences or collaborative space.
Finsbury Park provides beautiful green spaces to explore during breaks. Oxford House is a nine-minute walk or a four-minute cycle from Finsbury Park Station and offers secure, on-site bike storage. Oxford House has staffed reception and 24/7 access to high-speed internet, courtyards, a lounge, kitchen, showers, freshly ground coffee, snacks, shower rooms, private e-lockers, private outdoor sitting spaces and boardrooms with built-in projectors.
“Our flexible office spaces are ideal for teams looking to collaborate in a unique, inspiring environment while having a secure, private office for when you need to get your heads down and focus. All our flexible offices are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, super-fast connectivity and secure smartphone entry so you can come and go as you please,” said Centre Manager Stacy Dobie. “We believe that working in an inspiring environment that supports your well-being helps you and your team to reach your full potential and grow your business. That’s why we have invested in beautiful interiors, ergonomic furniture and outdoor courtyards for you to relax in. When you need to stretch your legs, our neighbouring Finsbury Park is just a few steps away.”
