27th February 2023: HeadOn PR, headquartered in Eagle Tower, Cheltenham, has made two senior hires in the UK following a string of new client wins over a period of steady growth.
The agency, which has a team in the UK and US, and specialises in public relations, social media and SEO, has doubled its workforce along with its client base in the last 12 months, in particular attracting further international business in cyber, tech, law, HR and sustainability.
Now the firm welcomes David Ferguson, Senior Account Manager and Callum Gable, Senior Account Executive, bringing its total workforce to 12.
Both new hires have extensive experience in traditional press relations, social media, digital PR and SEO. A highly motivated marketing professional, David brings with him 10 years in PR while Callum has six years in executing international PR campaigns.
David found his passion for communications and PR early in his career, initially at a legal firm, and then at a school sportswear manufacturer. He has worked closely with business-to-business and business-to-consumer brands, from law, tech and cyber, to charity and adventure travel, developing and delivering complex and meaningful PR campaigns that elevate brand awareness.
Like David, Callum also has a flare for creating campaigns that capture the public’s attention and make the client stand out from the competition. A strong writer, Callum as a solid background in consumer and business PR, having worked across a variety of sectors from e-commerce, retail to tech and industry, and on campaigns in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and across Europe.
David said: “Joining HeadOn PR is a fantastic next step in my career. I was keen to join a growing, vibrant team with the opportunity to work across a variety of brands and I’ve certainly found that in my new position. HeadOn PR has a unique approach of being able to offer brands the mix of traditional with digital PR for powerful, joined up communications which reaches customers at every touch point, builds brand credibility, and strengthens their SEO.
“I’m working on some exciting joint press and social media campaigns for fast-moving businesses, from launching new products, generating publicity around major events, winning awards, to securing profiling and thought leadership opportunities. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for HeadOn PR and being a part of its success.”
Callum added: “HeadOn PR was the perfect place to expand my current skills and pick up some completely new ones. I was impressed by the agency’s work and was really intrigued by the mix of sectors within its client base. The work I’ve done previously has given me invaluable writing and pitching experience, dealing with vast sections of the media and PR for SEO. I’m putting these skills to use and seeing the rewards it’s bringing my clients.”
Soon to celebrate its 10th year anniversary, HeadOn PR has seen considerable growth in its US as well as UK work and in attracting a multitude of cyber clients across the South-West. The firm now works with over ten cyber and tech organisations.
Verity Blake, Managing Director of HeadOn PR who has over 20 years in tech PR, said: “HeadOn PR is at a very exciting point in its growth plan, with an expanding team in the UK and US. Having David and Callum join is a strategic move for the future of the agency and we’re delighted to have two such talented people join to support us on our journey.”
