B4 WIB Breakfast talk by Shirley Lane of Balancing Butterflies
Join B4 WIB members for a talk by Shirley Lane of Balancing Butterflies at Csons Restaurant.
Shirley Lane is a Menopause Coach.
Shirley works with women who are going through the menopause, and men who are going through a similar phase which is called the andropause or “male menopause”. And helps make the menopause and beyond a positive transition.
Shirley is a Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner (Neuro linguistic Programming), in addition to being a Practitioner in a number of other Holistic therapies.
Shirley found the menopause much more difficult than anticipated. However, as Shirley went through the menopause she recognised some of the techniques she knew, particularly NLP techniques, really helped me personally. In fact they helped her so much that she set up her business so that she can assist and support other women (and men) as they go through this phase.
Whilst most people are aware the menopause can produce physical symptoms, it can also produce a number of psychological symptoms including stress, anxiety and self-esteem issues. These are areas Shirley particularly work with, and having suffered with them herself as she had gone through them with her own menopause, Shirley knew what an impact they can on how you show up and feel every day either in your personal life, work life, or both.
The menopause will be a unique experience for each person. Whilst some people will experience no issues at all, surveys indicate that 1 in 4 women struggle to cope with certain aspects of life due to their symptoms, and men can also experience a number of symptoms including stress, anxiety and confidence issues as they get older.
Shirley will be doing a short talk at the next B4 meeting and the topic will be “How to recognise a menopausal man (or woman!)” If you would like to find out more, please message Victoria Charnley on victoria@b4-business.com, if you have any questions.
