Leading national law firm, Freeths LLP, has strengthened its offering in the Southeast with the appointment of Partner Gavin Scott to lead the highly regarded family team in Oxford. This latest appointment will see Gavin expand the team, while working alongside colleagues nationally.
With over 20 years’ experience, Gavin’s expertise spans all aspects of family law, specialising in complex and high asset financial matters. Gavin also brings with him extensive experience with international work, relating to both finances and children, ranging from complex offshore investments, foreign property and Trusts to international relocation and child abduction. Examples include having obtained worldwide freezing orders, locking down property and assets in multiple jurisdictions and recently securing the safe return of two young children abducted to Lebanon in the Middle East. International family cases have covered the US, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
Gavin is renowned for his individualised, personal approach to his clients, often being said to have empowered them through the process, providing clear, strategic advice and making what can often be a very difficult experience, far easier to manage.
Freeths Oxford Family Team support and advise clients from the beginning of a relationship where they can assist with prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, to when a relationship breaks down, at which point they provide bespoke advice on dispute resolution, divorce, finances, and child related issues, all with a particular focus on the client’s needs and personal circumstances.
